I came across your site while researching wooden/biodegradable toothbrushes and found that you had reversed your opinion on the availability of cruelty-free boar bristle. Can you be more specific as to your sources? I don’t disbelieve you but I too have assumed that the bristle was a by-product of the meat industry and that the skins were simply scalded post-slaughter. I’m not vegan and don’t have a problem with humanely-raised meat, but I do like to know where the products I buy came from and how they were produced. (For example, it took a long time to find a cruelty-free goose-down pillow but they are out there.) Thanks.

You wrote: ” i have given up on the search for humanely-harvested boar-bristle. you have inspired me to write a new post.”
The word “post” is a link to this article: https://ecotoothbrush.wordpress.com/2016/04/10/non-nylon-alternatives-to-hog-bristle/
I suppose I should have posted at the bottom of one of these articles as this would have been less confusing, but I don’t remember seeing a comment window. I hope the above is helpful. Thanks.

when i said “i have given up on the search for humanely-harvested boar-bristle.” i meant and still mean that i have given up searching, because i have NOT been able to find a source of humanely-harvested boar-bristle toothbrushes.
i have been able to find boar-bristle toothbrushes. but their websites do not indicate or verify that they source boar-bristles which are humanely-harvested.
i hope that i have answered your question.
and since then i now use the best possible humanely-harvested toothbrush, a licorice stick, better than any toothbrush.
congratulations on finding happy goose down.

Hi there, what a great website. I am developing a really environmentally friendly toothbrush and I want to build a community to put ideas of sustainability together. Are you interested in a quick skype call of 10 minutes about your opinions and maybe possible partnerships? I would love to hear from you.
In the love of the planet!
